| Corn-Fed Simmental Beef Born and Raised On Our Farm No Hormones! No Additives! Haley Farms raises their corn fed beef on the farm from birth to harvest with no hormones or steroids added to the feed. Customers can have their meat freshly butchered. Customers can purchase a steer, a 1/2 steer, or a “1/2 of a 1/2” (1/4 of a steer). We charge based on hanging weight, which is approximately 58-63% of the live weight. Steers range in weight from 1100-1500 pounds. Dressed out, the hanging weight ranges from 600-900 pounds. The packaged meat a customer receives is approximately 43% of the live weight. These weights and percentages will vary with each carcass, exact weights are not guaranteed. Steers are butchered, cut, and vacuum sealed according to the customer’s order, ready for the freezer.
